Why does it take two solid years for Congress to produce legislation to deal with Wall Street shenanigans that led us into this Great Recession? The answer would be mid-terms. This landmark legislation (that does little to deal with actually reining in past abuses), looks all nice and shiny and the do-nothing-congress suddenly looks hardworking and accomplished. With it the Tea Party rants start to ring hollow. Ta-dah! Democrats maybe hold on the House and the Senate. Of course, even if the Democratic uptick holds until November, the GOP still has the advantage. Republicans, unlike Democrats, actually vote in the mid-terms.
